Window styles in Mt. Juliet homes and what fits them
The 2000s houses have a dozen identical windows and a two-story foyer, and the plan is a consistent product on the standard windows and something motorized on the tall ones.
Newer houses have standard vinyl windows with shallow frames, and the depth decides inside or outside mount; shutters need a frame and blinds need the depth.
Commuter households want motorized shades on a schedule for the west windows, closed in the afternoon before anyone is home; a smart controller is a standard install now.
In a fast-built town the windows are the same on every plan, and a product that fits the standard window is installed on a dozen at once.
The site decides the sun — a west wall in full afternoon light, a north wall under trees, a lake view worth keeping — and the treatment is chosen for the room’s exposure.

Windows that bring us out to Mt. Juliet
Historic housing in East Nashville and 12South frequently has openings that are nowhere near square, which is exactly why measuring on site matters more here than the price per unit.
- Arched or angled windows still bare
- Rentals where nothing can be screwed to the frame
- Light gaps down the sides of blinds
- Slats bent, yellowed or snapped
Measuring for inside mount without checking square. An opening that is a quarter inch out will show a wedge of light down one side, and nothing can be done once the unit is made.
